Robert Gros B. Comm., CFA
Portfolio Manager/Investment Advisor

About Robert...

Robert can offer his clients all the advantages of his personal knowledge, financial expertise and commitment to client satisfaction. With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Robert has gained the respect of his clients by providing them sound, reliable investment advice.

Robert Gros began his investment career with Royal Trust in 1979 after graduating from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce degree.  He became a Portfolio Manager in 1981 and in 1983 he was appointed to the position of Regional Manager of Investments in Winnipeg.  His responsibilities extended to the management of personal and pension client portfolios.  In 1989, he was transferred to the Victoria Investment Office to manage the Portfolio Management Group for Vancouver Island.  Robert accepted his latest appointment with RBC Dominion Securities in November 2003.  As Portfolio Manager and Investment Advisor, Robert specializes in investment management for individuals, estate and trust clients, and not-for-profit organizations.

Robert is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and a member of the Victoria CFA Society.  Established in 1962, the CFA Program sets the global standard for investment knowledge, standards, and ethics.  Earning the credential can serve as a passport to entry or advancement within the investment profession around the world.  The designation tells clients, employers, and colleagues that the charterholder has mastered a rigorous curriculum covering a broad range of investment topics and that members are committed to the highest ethical standards in the profession.

Away from the office you will find Robert enjoying the outdoors whether it is routing for one of his three children on the soccer field, running, or enjoying a game of golf.

Investment Management Philosophy

Robert’s most important job is to listen – to understand you and your family’s investment needs, and to work with you to set out short and long-term investment objectives. He will work with you to define your tolerance for risk, and develop realistic investment expectations commensurate with your comfort level.

You have many choices when it comes to managing your investments. How do you make choices that are right for you?  Before recommending an investment strategy, Robert will consider your:

Ř       Return objectives and tolerance for risk.

Ř       Investment time horizon.

Ř       Current and future need for liquidity.

Ř       Current lifestyle requirements.

Ř       Tax situation.
Ř       Unique needs and circumstances.

Working with Robert, you have direct access to the expertise and resources of RBC Investments, Canada’s leading provider of wealth management services. Robert is supported by a vast network of traders, economists, top ranked analysts and leading investment strategists.

Robert and his team have simply one desire…..to illustrate how we are putting our best foot forward for you and your family.
