Advisor Account
Patrick Rae & Associates Private Investment Management of RBC Dominion Securities manages two portfolio types: the Advisor Account and the Private Investment Management account. Both are designed to build, manage and preserve wealth and are flexible enough to expand in response to specific client needs and requirements and changing circumstances.
The Advisor Account is a partnership-based, full-service brokerage account that can include all of the investment and financial services offered by Patrick Rae & Associates Private Investment Management of RBC Dominion Securities but that charges one annual fee instead of charging commissions on individual transactions. A fee-based approach means that appropriate adjustments are made to suit changing market conditions and personal goals without worrying about the costs associated with making that change.
Asset Based Fees Since the fees payable on an Advisor Account are transparent, the client is then able to plan for their total brokerage costs and may choose to pay monthly or quarterly.
Fees are based on the value of the portfolio's assets and fall as the portfolio grows. Transaction limits are allotted and grow as the portfolio grows. Any registered account administration fees are included in the fee and fees on non-registered investments may be tax deductible.
Reporting The Advisor Account includes a Quarterly Portfolio Review Statement summarizing acitivity in the portfolio including cash balances, dividends and interest received, securities held and valuation at current market prices. The originating value of all securities is also included along with an overview of how the assets are allocated among various asset classes. Clients will receive same-day notification of all purchases or sales within the account and will be supplied with an annual income summary, a monthly transaction summary and a comprehensive year-end tax package and guide.
