hobbies
My hobbies are twofold:
Gliderflying:
I have been flying since the age of 15. I started flying in Hilden/Kesselsweicher in Germany, a very small airfield close to Duesseldorf. After getting my license 2 years later I started cross country flying and competition flying. My highest achievement was the German Junior Championships in the Clubclass, in which I placed 3rd. After 20 years of hiatus I finally started to fly again in 2007 at Yorksoaring in Arthur.
Classical Music:
I have been playing the violin and viola since I was 8 years old. I had the privilege to play for 2 years in the German Youth Orchestra; we also made Chambermusic in our house on a regular basis; my teacher, Erich Brand, played the 1st violin, my father the second, I played viola and my sister Beatrice gave us the beautiful cello sound. Here in Canada I am playing with my friend David Murray; we are locally known as Cow and Sow.
