David Smith, BBA, CIM
Portfolio Manager, Investment Advisor

Welcome

In order to be successful with your investments you must have a plan, a plan that is suited to your unique circumstances which can be followed during good times and bad.  By following a disciplined, long-term strategy you will be able to adjust to a changing market environment.

With over ten years experience in the financial services and wealth management industry, David has achieved the status of Associate Portfolio Manager.  This is one of the highest designations available in the investment industry and represents David's commitment to the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.  By achieving Associate Portfolio Manager status, David is now qualified to offer discretionary portfolio management.

Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities in 2000 he was a personal insurance advisor with one of Canada's largest insurance companies.

David attended the University of Prince Edward Island where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree.  A believer in continuing education, David also holds the CIM (Canadian Investment Manager) designation and has completed numerous investment and financial planning courses through the Canadian Securities Institute to better serve his clients.

Active in the community David is past president of The Rotary Club of Stratford.  David has been awarded with a Paul Harris Fellowship and was voted member of the year for 2005-2006.  He also volunteers for Junior Achievement by delivering the "Economics of Staying in School" program to grade eight students.

David resides in Charlottetown with his wife, Stacy, and enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, particularly golf and camping.
