A. C. Elder & Associates

PROFESSIONAL WEALTH MANAGEMENT

At A. C. Elder & Associates we focus on working with business owners, their businesses and their families.    Whether you are a small business owner, a farmer/rancher, a professional or leader of industry it is our understanding that your business and your family are separate yet one at the same time.  Because of that understanding we take a two pronged planning approach - personal and business - and make sure that each plan works in conjunction with the other.

We are passionate about providing the highest level of wealth management through the creation of a trusting, long-term relationship with you, your business and your family. Our deep concern for your financial success and well-being is reflected in our unique consultative approach and client-focused processes.

To ensure we are consistently adding value to your wealth management experience, we have developed a systematic client process that has deliverables which continually align our ongoing expert advice and recommendations with your unique financial situation and priorities. Our consultative approach is based on a series of five scheduled meetings.

Initial Meeting

The objective of the Initial Meeting is to allow us to meet and get to know you.  We will discuss your background, family, values, concerns,  and  financial objectives - both personal and business related so that both parties can decide whether there is a mutual fit in which we can add value to your financial affairs.

The meeting will focus upon your basic needs, goals, expectations, fears, financial history and current financial position.  Upon conclusion of the Initial Meeting you will be given more details about the products and solutions we can provide you, a Family Snapshot Questionnaire, Financial Priorities Checklist, an Investment Objectives and Risk Questionnaire, a Wealth Management Checklist  and a "What Kind of Investor Are You?" Survey .  These will be required to be completed to ensure we have enough information ready to discuss your financial situation in more detail in our next meeting.

Discovery Meeting

The objective of the Discovery Meeting is to review major themes discussed during the Initial Meeting as well as the questionnaires and checklists.  This will assist us in understanding your priorities and in formulating both your financial and asset management plans.  It will also give us the ability to review your current situation in more detail and make sure we have all relavent information available to us in drafting your financial strategy.  We will also determine how involved you would like to be in the investment process.   This  then allows us to determine which asset management program is suitable for you, your family and your business to reach your goals.

Strategy Meeting

The objective of the Stratgey Meeting is to outline and review your financial strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and create a financial action plan.  We will also present an asset management plan to demonstrate how we propose to invest your assets according to your time horizon, investment objectives and risk tolerance. You will be given a Family Snapshot which outlines major themes in regards to your financial picture and the timeline to address them, an Investment Policy Statement that outlines the stewardship of your assets and how your portfolio will be guided now and in the future and a Portfolio Proposal that will outline in detail how we propose to manage your assets to meet your objectives.

If, at this point, you agree with our proposed strategy and we both feel there is value in moving forward, we would need your commitment to formalize the relationship and become a client. We will answer any questions or concerns you may have about your plan and have you sign some documentation to open applicable accounts, initiate asset transfers and/or apply insurance solutions.

90 Day Follow-Up Meeting/Phone Call

The purpose of this meeting is to follow up on your financial action plan as well help you get better familiarized with our processes and to understand exactly what is happening with your investment accounts. We will outline how to read the various statements and material you receive and answer any questions or concerns you may have to that point.

Regular Progress Meetings

These meetings will be scheduled based upon your portfolio and asset management approach.  They are essentially the foundation for our ongoing consultative service. These meetings provide us both with regular opportunities to discuss and review the status of your plans and portfolio as well as to determine if any significant changes have occurred in your life that would necessitate an adjustment to your financial plan.  At this point we can also review the Investment Policy Statement and the Family Snapshot to see if there are any changes or further needs to address.

For further information please contact us to set up an Initial Meeting.  We look forward to working with you, your business and your family.
