Chris Kwok joined RBC Dominion Securities with 22 year experience in financial services. Chris was born and raised in Kobe, Japan where he attended Marist Brothers International School, a private Catholic international school with students from over 32 countries. He was active in sports and played baseball, soccer, volleyball and table tennis. Outside of school, Chris also enjoyed bowling and also won a junior bowling tournament in Japan. Upon graduation, he moved to Vancouver, Canada to earn his Economics degree at University of British Columbia. Chris speaks English & Japanese fluently and some Cantonese. His business draws on his multinational upbringing and expertise, having pioneered and successfully developed Japanese Banking at one of Canada's largest bank where he worked for 19 years. He has specialized in the Japanese market for over 15 years and developed a strong Japanese network & connection within the community. Chris has helped and enhanced the life experience of thousands of Japanese who have moved to Canada and also later returned to Japan. In 1998, Chris also lived in Tokyo as the senior representative of a Canadian major bank. Chris maintains strong ties with many family members, friends and business associates in Japan.
Chris loves sports, especially baseball. While living in Kobe, he was a big fan of Nippon Professional Baseball and Sadaharu Oh was his childhood idol. Now, he enjoys Major League Baseball and collecting autographed baseball memorabilia. His favorite moments are traveling to Safeco Field in Seattle, MLB spring training sites in Arizona & Florida and taking his family to Japan |

Shoko Sanchez
Associate Advisor, PFP
Born and raised in Tokyo, Shoko graduated from Tokyo Woman’s Christian University with a degree in Ethological Psychology. In spite of her busy education schedule and spending many hours in the laboratory, a lot of her free time was spent on writing. Ever since she was a high school student, she was a free-lance journalist for a variety of fashion, music, sub-culture and commercial modeling magazines. She was also an assistant instructor at “ Ojuken School” - a special private incentive school where children would study advanced materials. Many of her students were able to enter prestigious private schools in Tokyo, Japan. After graduation from university, Shoko worked as a full time editor for an international fashion magazine. It was during one of her holidays in Canada that she decided to move to Vancouver in 1993. Shortly after, Shoko began her financial career as a banker at a major Canadian bank and later earned her Professional Financial Planner designation. She earned her reputable status in the Canadian Japanese community through dedication and enthusiasm to her work. Shoko believes the fundamental elements of a good client relationship are to listen and understand their investment needs. She helps clients maintain peace of mind by making sure that their hard earned money is being looked after.
Outside of the office, Shoko enjoys wine-tasting, dining out and listening to music. She resides in the Vancouver Kitsilano neighbourhood with her husband and their 8 years old daughter. |

Elaine graduated from the University of British Columbia with a double major in Economics and Japanese. She has completed her CSC and CPH and is fully licensed under the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada.
Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities in 2006, she worked in Saitama, Japan for 3 years as a public high school English teacher as well as Coordinator of International Relations in the government of Japan. One of the highlights of her overseas career was organizing and hosting a 2-days conference with over 500 teachers in the city of Omiya. She also conducted English and Japanese educational workshops periodically in Saitama and Tokyo. As one of the judges in the Saitama Prefectural English Speech contest, she had the honour of meeting Princess Takamado at the All Japan-Inter Middle School English Oratorical Contest in 2004. With her dedication to her work of promoting internationalization, she was appointed as the Lifetime Goodwill Ambassador of Saitama in 2005.
Born in Hong Kong and raised in Canada, Elaine is fluent in English, Japanese, Cantonese and Mandarin. In her spare time, she enjoys learning more languages (she's working on Spanish right now), playing music on her piano (she likes anything from rock to enka) and snowboarding in Cypress and Whistler. |

Kyoko Takahashi
Estate Planning Associate, FLMI
Kyoko started her career in the financial services industry with a major Canadian Insurance and Financial Services agency in 1994 in roles ultimately leading to her appointment as the Branch Administrator. Prior to joining RBC DS Financial Services Inc. in 2008, she worked in an IDA firm as the primary Estate Planning Assistant and team member for the leading Estate Planning Specialist Team in that company. She was awarded the company’s top employee award for Professionalism and Integrity in her duties in her second year of that employment.
Throughout her financial services career Kyoko has continued her educational pursuits ultimately earning designations from LOMA (The Life Office Management Association) including FLMI, AFSI, ACS, AIAA, and ARA. She continues to upgrade and enhance her personal and professional skills through industry related courses to remain fresh in this dynamic industry.
Her enthusiasm and positive attitudes toward her life and career goals are infectious.
She is perfectly fluent in Japanese and English and spends her spare time practicing yoga and playing the piano. She lives in Richmond, British Columbia with her husband and daughter. |
