Meet the Team



  The Group’s leader, Lee was born in Calgary and moved to Ontario to attend the University of Guelph where she acquired her bachelor’s degree in 1975. She subsequently earned a Bachelor of Education degree from Queen’s University in 1976, and a Masters of Business Administration from Queen’s in 1982.

A proponent of continuing education, she earned the Professional Financial Planner (PFP) and Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute while employed as an Investment Advisor at Richardson Greenshields (acquired by RBC Dominion Securities in 1996). Prior to her involvement at Richardson Greenshields, she was a business analyst at Alcan International and a financial analyst with Strathcona Paper.  As an Investment Advisor, Lee’s focus is on helping clients determine their needs and recommending appropriate wealth management solutions.
 
In addition to working for RBC Dominion Securities as an Investment Advisor, Kingston residents will remember Lee as the Financial Reporter for CKWS Evening News. Lee puts a great deal of effort into helping her community, including fundraising for charitable interests and supporting the performing arts. She has served on the Board of Directors for Almost Home and as the Chair of the Operation Leo’s Share committee she helped raise over $100,000 for the Kingston General Hospital Foundation. Lee is also involved with the Queen’s Alumni Association and is a strong supporter of the United Way.

Alita Battey-Pratt
Alita was born in Toronto and moved to Kingston in 1963 to study at Queen’s University, where she graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968. She earned the designation of Certified Financial Planner in 1990, and obtained Fellowship of the Canadian Securities Institute standing in 1993. In 2004, she completed the Certified Investment Manager designation specializing in Portfolio Management Techniques.

Alita joined Richardson Greenshields in 1995 (and subsequently RBC Dominion Securities in 1996) after having been employed by another leading investment dealer. Before 1993, she worked for many years as an independent tax and financial planner. She lives on a farm with her husband Peter, and is the mother of three adult daughters. Alita serves on the Board of Directors of the Business and Professional Women’s Clubs of Canada, and has been a committee member of the Ontario Lung Association’s Gardening Festival. She has participated in local theatre, has been an historian, is a published author, and has held various local political committee appointments.



Bruce was born in Saskatoon and, from Quebec to Vancouver Island, has lived in various locations across Canada. He graduated from Queen’s University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geological Engineering, and held numerous management positions with several leading Canadian mining companies during his twenty-seven year career as a geologist; he still retains his membership in the Professional Engineers of Ontario.

The father of three adult sons, in 2000 he re-located to Kingston with his wife Donna. Nine years ago, Bruce joined RBC Dominion Securities as an Investment Advisor, and in 2004 he joined the Wetherall Wealth Management Group. In 2002, he obtained the designation of Financial Management Advisor, and in 2005 he earned the designation of Fellowship of the Canadian Securities Institute.Away from the office, Bruce enjoys playing hockey and golf, curling and travelling. He served on the Steering Committee of the Ontario Lung Association’s annual Gardening Festival for five years.  Bruce is a member of the United Way Cabinet and is an active Queen’s alumnus. He commits a great many hours each year as a volunteer for local fundraising events.
